New Ferry Option for Staten Islanders
Staten Island commuters and visitors have gained a new transportation option: NYC Ferry has opened the long-awaited St. George Route.
I joined Mayor de Blasio and Borough President Oddo on Monday for the launching of the new route, which completes the city's All-Borough plan for NYC Ferry service.
The St. George Route gives commuters and visitors a convenient, fast and comfortable option for travel between Staten Island and Manhattan’s midtown. The route makes stops at Battery Park City and at Pier 79 on West 39th Street.
Ferries are part of the solutions to move people throughout our city safely and expeditiously, helping to relieve our over-burdened mass transit system. Furthermore, I expect that the St. George Route will do much to enhance Staten Island as a tourist destination.
Tickets are $2.75 one-way and $121 for a one-month pass.
