National Night Out
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign designed to enhance the relationship between residents and law enforcement officers. Millions of people in communities in all 50 states take part in this event.
I joined hundreds of Staten Islanders on Tuesday at Midland Beach at our local Night Out, which was organized by the borough’s four police precincts.
The event was canceled last year because of the pandemic. So I was pleased to see everyone enjoying the outdoors, chatting with our police officers and watching the children having fun on the inflatable slide and the rock-climbing wall.
It also gave me an opportunity to meet with friends, constituents, local officials and Borough President candidate Mark Murphy (pictured here).
The event also featured crime prevention tips and a demonstration by mounted police officers.
