Help me give the gift of reading this holiday season

This holiday season, I will be collecting books to give to North Shore children. Through Dec. 19, gifts of new books can be dropped off at my St. George office. They will be distributed during the week of Christmas to children’s clinics and inpatient wards at Richmond University Medical Center and Staten Island University Hospital. One of the most important gifts we can give to our children is the gift of reading. Books can open windows to new possibilities for young people of all ages, and my hope is that with our generosity, we can give this gift to as many children as possible this holiday season. When I was a child preparing for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, my parents always reminded me of looking out for others during this season of giving—and I am asking my fellow Staten Islanders to join me in doing just that. Books of all types—board books, hardcover books and paperbacks for children and teens of all ages—can be dropped off at my 6th floor office at 130 Stuyvesant Place in St. George. To facilitate drop-off, please call the office first at 718-556-7370.
