Staten Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (SIPYO), and it's parent organization, Staten Island Philharmonic Orchestra (SIPO), hope to count on your support as we wind up our second season with our 2nd Annual Spring Concert on Saturday, June 21st at 7 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church.
Staten Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, a fledgling organization, is seeking your support to promote music for our city’s youth. As our mission statement says, we want the Staten Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra to enrich our community by presenting performances of classical and contemporary music by a culturally diverse group of students. SIPYO is the only community-based, youth orchestra on Staten Island that accepts and provides expert instruction to children of various grades (elementary through high-school), differing levels and abilities, and from specialized, private and public schools. It is the conviction of the founders that the SIPYO provides a supportive environment where students can develop and build their artistic, cognitive and social skills. Our director and conductor, Madeline Casparie, has channeled her many years of performing and teaching experience into growing a full string orchestra composed entirely of youth grades 3 to 12.
For more information, email us at SIPYOrchestra@gmail.com and visit our website at www.sipyorchestra.com where we use a blog style format that allows viewers to see past events and clips of the children playing. You can also look us up and like us on Facebook (Staten Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra) to see clips and postings. Please contact Mrs. Anona de Juana-Martin at 917-699-5723 if there are any questions that need answering for you to assist us in making the our city aware of this wonderful organization.
