Councilwoman Debi Rose and others call for employee protections for school bus drivers

City lawmakers including Councilwoman Debi Rose are calling for the state legislature to make mandatory a clause in school bus driver contracts that contributed to last year's strike.

In recent years the city began bidding out school bus contracts for the very first time - and unions took issue with the lack of an Employee Protection Provision, or EPP, that allows union bus drivers or matrons to move from one company to another while maintaining seniority.
